    Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon will be presenting BEST ALBUM at the Ivor Novello Awards on May 20th at the Grovesnor House in London.

    The Ivor Novello Awards honor excellence in British music writing. Duran Duran won an Ivor for “Ordinary World” in 1994.

    The Awards will be hosted by radio and tv presenter Paul Gambaccini.

    Una Lily Allen descritta come "quasi in lacrime" ha ritirato ben tre premi, due dei quali per il singolo "The fear" ed uno per "Songwriter of the year", ai britannici Ivor Novello Awards che sono stati assegnati a Londra. I riconoscimenti sottolineano, da sempre, più la qualità che la popolarità della musica degli autori. La cinquantacinquesima edizione dei "Novellos" ha regalato sorrisi anche a Bat For Lashes, il progetto di Natasha Khan, a Paolo Nutini, a Johnny Marr, a Paul Weller e a Neil Sedaka. La Khan è stata premiata nella categoria "Best contemporary song" per "Daniel". Simon Le Bon dei Duran Duran ha consegnato a Paolo Nutini il riconoscimento per "Best album" per "Sunny side up". Il produttore Trevor Horn è tornato a casa col trofeo per il miglior contributo alla musica britannica mentre Johnny Marr, ex Smiths, con l'Ivor's Inspiration. Lo "Special international award" è stato conferito a Neil Sedaka mentre Noel Gallagher è stato più che felice di dare il premio alla carriera al suo idolo Paul Weller.
